History of Rameswarpur Ghosh Zamidar Bari
Rameswarpur is one of the oldest villages in North 24 Pargana’s in India. Rameswar is the another name of Mahadev So it means, it’s Mahadev’s place. In this Village Ghosh Zamindar Family ‘s Pujas of God and goddess are very famous for their old rituals. Puja of Mahadev, Durgapuja, Kalipuja, Radha Krishna puja and Puja of Jagannath, Balaram and Suvadra are popular for its own glory.
This family made good things for villagers like in subjugated India they got a school built, Post office was made for saving people’s hard earned money, For women’s education purposes school was built For people’s shelter lands were donated and so many things were done by Ghosh Family In subjugated India Dr.Pratap Ghosh who stood by people and provided free treatment for poor and distress people. It’s also known that temple of this House is famous and people of this area still believe that genuine prayer in this temple brings efficacious result. People of this area have strong faith on this temple. Still Schools, Post office and many other things of Subjugated India do exist in this village.
This Zamindar house has historical image. During 1971 , liberation war in Bangladesh which was a revolution and armed conflict sparked by the rise of the Bengali Nationalist and self determination movement in East Pakistan which resulted in the independence of Bangladesh and at that time thousands of people got shelter in these Zamindar Houses. Shooting of National award winning movie of “Nimantran” of Tarun Majumder was done in this house during Durga Puja.
Present generation of this family made a charitable Trust named “Maa Charitable Foundation”, Rameswarpur It’s government registered trust. From this trust they do many charitable work for needy people.
